(July. 2025) - Dessert-lovers in the Bay Area, get ready: popular frozen dessert brand Nobibi is coming to Hayward Sprouts Plaza at 26201 Mission Boulevard, Hayward - thanks to franchisees Shilpy Kamboj and Ajay “AJ” Arora, who are set to open their first location later this year, with expansion plans already underway for San Jose and San Francisco.
Both longtime professionals in the tech industry, Shilpy and AJ are using their business acumen, creativity, and network to bring something new to the local food scene. “The taste sold us,” says Shilpy. “From the first bite, we knew we had to be a part of this brand.”
Nobibi is known for its highly visual, handcrafted dessert menu—offering bold soft serve flavors, vibrant toppings, boba drinks, and fun, photo-worthy presentations like gold-leaf ice cream, charcoal swirls, and fruit-forward creations. Shilpy and AJ aim to make their Hayward location not just a dessert shop, but a hangout destination for the local community.
Following the Hayward debut, the couple plans to open several more locations throughout the San Jose and San Francisco regions. They are currently raising funds through their network in the tech industry, leveraging relationships they’ve built while working at leading global technology companies.
